The Madison Township Service Department consists of ten full time employees and approximately 4 part time seasonal employees. The Service Department maintains the roads, stormwater, seasonal tree limb chipper program, tree trimming and removal, recycling program, as well as management and maintenance of the parks and cemeteries.
The Service Department works diligently to assure proper drainage is maintained in the road right-of-way. Our storm sewers are maintained to provide for safe and efficient removal of storm water.
The Township maintains 51 miles of Township roads, while the Lake County Engineers Office maintains about 67 miles of Township roads, along with the State of Ohio maintaining another 14 miles of Township roads.
The Service Department is responsible for maintenance of right-of-ways for safety and beautification purposes. This includes cutting brush and removal of trees where necessary
The department maintains its own fleet
of over 25 vehicles and a large tool inventory. The department's own
mechanic shop conducts its own state vehicle inspections and 90% of its
own vehicle repairs. Small engine repair, carpentry, and welding work is
also completed by the department.

Planting Trees, Shrubs, & Flowers?
No trees, shrubs, or flowers are permitted to be planted in the road
right-of-way, if you need assistance determining what the road
right-of-way is contact the Township Offices. Trees, shrubs, and flowers
planted in the road right-of-way are subject to removal.
