Chief's Statement to the Residents of Madison Township:
The men and women of your police department are public servants whose duty is to protect and serve the people of Madison Township.
As your Police Chief I expect the men and women of the Madison Township Police Department to provide our citizens with the same level of commitment that they would want a member of their own family to receive, if they were in need of police assistance.
While not every contact with a police officer may leave you feeling happy you should, at the very least, believe that the officer did his or her best to handle the particular situation he or she was called upon to resolve.
I want to hear from people with suggestions or concerns about the service that we provide because we need to do our very best. The well-being of the community and the police department are interdependent upon one another. Without a good police department a community will not prosper, without community support a police department will not survive. Both the community and the police department that it serves will only be as good or as bad as the community allows.
Fortunately since its very inception, the Madison Township Police Department has always enjoyed the support and confidence of the community. It is the responsibility of the Chief of Police and every officer on the department to assure the service that you receive is worthy of that support and commitment.
The badge our officers wear upon their chest bears the name of Madison Township, that badge represents this community and its people. It is a badge that our officers and our community should always be proud of.
Chief Leonard V. Del Calzo
