Resolution #05-056 June 28, 2005 Madison Township, Ohio
The Madison Township Board of Trustees in and for Madison, Ohio, met this day in regular session with the following members present:
Mr. Wayman, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Ashton
Mr. Brunner presented the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION ADOPTING NEW FEE SCHEDULE FOR MADISON TOWNSHIP ZONING APPLICATIONS
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, the Madison Township Board of Trustees under authority granted to them in accordance with Section 519.17 of the Ohio Revised Code may require a fee be paid to locate, erect, construct, reconstruct, enlarge or structurally alter any building or structure within the territorial limits of Madison Township. The Board of Trustees may further require a fee accompany all zoning applications for the purpose of defraying the cost of inspection, certification, processing of applications, and maintaining necessary records. The following fees shall be paid prior to the issuance of a zoning certificate in accordance with Section 140.3 of the Madison Township Zoning Resolution.
a. Accessory Building Thirty-five dollars ($35.00) shall be paid for a detached garage or accessory building one hundred (100) square feet or larger. Fifteen dollars ($15.00) for an accessory building less than one hundred (100) square feet but larger than 64 square feet.
b. Addition or Alteration Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) shall be paid for an addition or alteration to existing dwelling - i.e. porch, additions.
c. Additions to Commercial Structures - Ten cents ($.10) per square foot of area shall be paid for a permit for additions to commercial structures provided that such fee shall not be less than one hundred dollars ($100.00), nor more than eight hundred dollars ($800.00).
d. Business Signage - Twenty dollars ($20.00) shall be paid for a permit to erect a business sign. Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) shall be paid for a permit to erect a sign in a light manufacturing area.
e. Certificate of Occupancy - Twenty dollars ($20.00) shall be paid for a new construction certificate of occupancy per the requirements of Section 140.1.7 of the Zoning Resolution
f. Change of Text - Four hundred dollars ($400.00) shall be paid to file an application to change text in the Zoning Resolution. A-1
g. Change of Use Permit Thirty-five dollars ($35.00) shall be paid per parcel, or part thereof, for a change of use permit when a structure or parcel is intended to be used for a use different than the existing use.
h. Commercial, Light Manufacturing and/or Public Structures - Ten cents ($.10) per square foot of area shall be paid for permits for commercial, light manufacturing, and/or public structures, provided that such fee shall not be less than three hundred dollars ($300.00), nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00).
i. Conditional Use Request BZA - Four hundred dollars ($400.00) shall be paid to file an application for a Conditional Use Request before the Zoning Board of Appeals.
j. Deck - Ten dollars ($10.00) shall be paid for any structural change to an existing building i.e. deck, patio.
k. Fence - Ten dollars ($10.00) shall be paid for a permit to erect a fence in accordance with Section 133.3 of the Zoning Resolution.
l. Filing of Appeal BZA - Seventy-five dollars ($75.00) shall be paid to file an appeal application before the Zoning Board of Appeals.
m. Hospital, Nursing Home, Rest Home or Convalescent Home Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) shall be paid for a permit for each room, excluding bathroom, of a nursing home, rest home, convalescent home or hospital, not to exceed eight hundred dollars ($800.00) for any one structure.
n. Motor Court, Motel or Hotel Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) shall be paid for a permit for each room, excluding bathroom, of a motor court, motel or hotel, not to exceed eight hundred dollars ($800.00) for any one structure.
o. Multiple Family Dwellings - One hundred, twenty-five dollars ($125.00) shall be paid for the first two units of a multiple family dwelling building. Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each additional unit within the building.
p. Patio - Ten dollars ($10.00) shall be paid for any structural change to an existing building i.e. deck, patio.
q. Placement of Political Signs - A thirty-five dollar ($35.00) bond shall be placed with the Zoning Inspector for the placement of political signs per Section 128.9.10.

r. Pools Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) shall be paid for private above ground swimming pools as described in Section 129 of the Zoning Resolution. Fifty dollars ($50.00) shall be paid for private in-ground swimming pools as described in Section 129 of the Zoning Resolution. Fifty dollars ($50.00) shall be paid for the installation of public swimming pools as described in Section 129.2 of the Zoning Resolution.
s. Re-Zoning of Property Four hundred dollars ($400.00) shall be paid to file an application for re-zoning of property.
t. Single Family Dwelling - Seventy dollars ($70.00) shall be paid for a single-family dwelling.
u. Temporary Construction Signage - No zoning permit or zoning permit fee shall be required for a temporary construction sign up to 6 square feet. A five dollars ($5.00) per sq. ft. (or any portion thereof) zoning permit fee shall be paid for a temporary construction sign permit above 6 sq. ft. per restrictions of Section 128.9.8.
u. Temporary or Portable Business Signage - Fifteen dollars ($15.00) shall be paid for a temporary or portable business sign permit subject to the restrictions of Section 128.4. Temporary signs erected by not-for-profit organizations are restricted to the fees and limitations set forth in Section 128.9.9 and 128.9.13.
v. Zoning Book - Fifteen dollars ($15.00) shall be paid for the purchase of a new zoning book. An additional shipping/handling charge of Five dollars ($5.00) shall be required if mailed. A ten cents ($0.10) fee shall be received for each printed page of zoning related material.
